Job Description

Total earning potential: $90,000 to $150,000+ annually (1099 independent contractor, workload dependent). CLFC compensates court reporters through an appearance and attendance fee PLUS retained transcript page revenue and expedited and realtime premiums, so your earnings scale with the work you produce, not a flat hourly wage.

CLFC is building its court reporter roster in the Miami market to support depositions, arbitrations, examinations under oath, and state and commercial legal proceedings across CLFC's nationwide legal-support practice. This is recurring work, not a single engagement.

How the compensation works:

Appearance and attendance compensation for your time at each proceeding
70% of transcript page revenue retained by the reporter, across ordinary, expedited, daily, and hourly delivery tiers
Realtime, rough-draft, and copy premiums where applicable
Steady, recurring assignment volume with flexible scheduling
CLFC manages scheduling and payment so you focus on the record

What you will do: produce a complete, accurate, verbatim record of depositions, arbitrations, and examinations; deliver certified transcripts within requested turnaround tiers; provide realtime output where requested; manage exhibits; and uphold professional confidentiality and impartiality as an officer of the record.

Required qualifications:

RPR (NCRA) certification or an active state Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) license valid in the jurisdiction of assignment
Minimum 2 years of professional court reporting experience
A Notary Public commission in the jurisdiction of assignment or the ability to obtain one
Proficiency with stenographic CAT software and reliable professional equipment with redundant backup recording
No federal security clearance required for this role

Strongly preferred: Certified Realtime Reporter (CRR) and/or Registered Merit Reporter (RMR); realtime capability; multi-jurisdiction licensure.

Engagement: Independent Contractor (1099). Assignments are accepted individually and you remain free to accept or decline based on availability and location.
