I am currently recruiting for a Communications Specialist (Audio Video Technician) for one of our direct clients in the US. Below are the specs for the role:Job Title: Communications Specialist (Audio Video Technician)Work Location: New York, NY 10001 (100% Onsite)Duration of Assignment: 6+ MonthsPay Rate Range: $40.00 - $52.00/hr on W2Job Description: Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled and proactive Audio Video Technician to support the AV infrastructure of a dynamic, multi-floor corporate headquarters. This role involves maintaining and operating AV systems across digital signage networks, event spaces, live production control rooms, and conference facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, excellent troubleshooting skills, and a customer-focused mindset.Key Responsibilities:AV System Support & Maintenance Install, configure, and maintain AV equipment including projectors, displays, speakers, microphones, video conferencing systems, and control panels. Monitor and maintain digital signage systems across multiple floors. Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on AV systems.Event & Live Production Support Provide technical support for corporate events, town halls, and live broadcasts. Operate video switchers, audio mixers, lighting controls, and streaming platforms in production control rooms. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution.Troubleshooting & Technical Assistance Respond to AV-related service requests and incidents promptly. Diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues across AV systems. Provide on-site support for executive meetings and high-profile events.Documentation & Inventory Maintain accurate records of AV setups, configurations, and maintenance logs. Track inventory of AV equipment and recommend upgrades or replacements as needed.Collaboration & Training Work closely with IT, Facilities, and Communications teams to support integrated technologies. Train end-users on AV system usage and best practices.Qualifications: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, IT, or related field preferred. 3+ years of experience in corporate AV support or live event production. Proficiency with AV technologies such as Crestron, Extron, QSC, Dante, Zoom Rooms, and digital signage platforms. Strong understanding of signal flow, networking basics, and AV over IP. Excellent communication and customer service skills.
