Credit & Collections Specialist

The Credit and Collections Specialist will process credit applications, set up customer accounts, and collect on US Accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage accounts by:

• Contact customer via phone calls/email on accounts that are due and verifying they have received all pending invoices

• Providing copies of invoices and paperwork which are required by customer for payment; calling consignee on missing bill of ladings

• Analyze and investigate customer dispute and short payments; Request adjustments for any invoices billed incorrectly and contact customers concerning short payments.

• Close/process loads through customer specific websites for payment

• Assisting in the "Billing improvement process".

• Reviewing credit applications and setting appropriate limits.

• Handle incoming phone calls or faxes concerning credit inquiries.

• Work with Billing Group to ensure customer specific needs are met.

• Work with Sales Reps. on new and problem accounts.

This position is in-office/on-site Monday-Friday during normal working hours, typically 7am-4pm or 8am-5pm.

Qualification Requirements:

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma required, college degree preferred. Must have experience in customer service. Account Payable, Collections, Accounts Receivable or similar experience preferred.

Special Training: Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook and Excel.

Special Skills: Must be able to speak clearly, is also necessary to work and deal with many different personalities. Is required to deal with high-pressure situations. Needs to be able to multi task and maintain a schedule, while staying flexible to change.

Physical Demands: It is necessary to talk, hear, sit, walk, type, write, and move with a full range of motion.
