Job Description
3rd shift 11: 00PM to 7: 00AM (Sun. - Thurs.)CreelerJob Summary: Maintain creels for loom with an eye toward quality;replace bobbins as needed and participate in color changes.Duties/Responsibilities: 1) Visually inspects inventory of yarns, jute, and cotton to ensure appropriate stock levels.2) Visually inspect boards for proper lot #s and paths.3) Replaces low bobbins as needed.4) Uses special spindles for crushed or bad bobbins.5) Separates bobbins to be rewound.6) Threads yarn along the proper path to loom.7) Visually inspects for crossed yarn on path to loom.8) Loads proper weights on yarn.9) Loads jute tables when necessary.10) Sweeps and cleans creel and loom area.11) Cleans loom and surrounding areas.12) Communicates with the creel manager and material handler regarding raw goods needs.13) Other duties as assigned.Required Skills and Abilities:1) Ability to follow directions and work well in a team.2) Ability to read boards for proper lot #s and paths.3) Ability to get along with teammates.4) Ability to come to work for each scheduled shift.Education and Experience:1) None requiredPhysical Requirements:1) Continuous standing and walking2) Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds3) Visual acuity to read boards and distinguish between colors4) Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to change bobbins.Critical Job Demands:The following information describes the physical activities that are performed during the normal 8 hr. Jute bobbins ranging in size and weight up to 42lbs.2) Carry: (Continuously) Yarn bobbins and jute bobbins.3) Handgrip:a. (Continuously) to handle bobbins and scissors.b. (Rarely) to grasp pneumatic blower to clean loom.4) Elevated work/ Reaching:a. (Frequently) overhead reach up to 90”to thread yarn through creel guides, load proper weights on yarn, to tie knots.b. (Rarely) forward reach moving blower nozzle and moving needle straps to clean and blow lint off of the loom.5) Low sitting/kneeling/crouch/deep squat: (Frequently) to place bobbins as low as 12”on bottom rows of creels.6) Dynamic crouch/deep squat: a. (Frequently) to thread yarn through creel guides as low as 12”for up to 40’.b. (Rarely) to clean beneath loom.7) Standing/walking: (Continuously) performing all of the activities that this job requires on a concrete floor in bottom creel level and wood surface on upper creel level.8) Stair climbing: (Frequently) climb stairs to upper-level creels.9) Step ladder-climbing: (Occasionally) to climb step ladder to place bobbins on top rows of creels up to 90”or to break down yarn or jute pallets.10) Balance: (Continuously) while lifting, carrying, standing, walking, or climbing.11) Upper extremity fine motor: (Continuously) to tie knots, load weights, and thread yarn through creel guides.12) Vision: (Continuously) to discriminate color, to inspect yarn path, read.
