Crisis Peer Support Specialist- Horizons- PRN
Essential Responsibilities:

Provide direct supportive services to individuals with mental health symptoms
Assist clients in generating proactive solutions to barriers regarding their recovery
Complete documentation in a timely and accurate manner
Complete trainings and attend meetings as directed
Participate in care coordination to collaborate with community partners, caregivers, family members, physicians and other treatment providers regularly
Work with care team and consumer to develop a crisis prevention plan and treatment goals to provide person-centered treatment
Act in accordance with the established mission, vision, and values.
Abide by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability privacy and security regulations regarding all aspects of Protected Health Information (PHI).
Maintain effective communication and professional working relationships with patients/clients and their representatives, team members, contractors, physicians, peers, outside agencies, and the public.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be 18 years of age and at least three years older than the youth.
This unique position requires that a Peer Support Specialist Self-identify as a present or former primary consumer of mental health services
Minimum of one year in stable recovery
Required License/Certifications/Registrations
State training as identified
Valid driver's license, insurance and a dependable vehicle
Preferred Qualifications:
Preferred Education and Experience
- Two years' experience working with adults in a health-related field
Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations
- BHS Certification for Peer Support Specialists in Kansas (KDADS)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong organizational skills
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office programs
Ability to develop and mentor others.
Oral communication, interpersonal skills, flexibility, problem-solving skills
Physical Requirements:
With or without accommodation.
- Light Work: Occasionally exerting up to 25 lbs - frequently exerting up to 10 lbs. 11-25% of the day may be standing or walking.
