CST – Operating Room

A leading regional healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgeons and clinical teams throughout a variety of surgical procedures in a collaborative operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for procedures

• Assist surgeons and other members of the surgical team throughout operative procedures

• Maintain a sterile field and follow established infection prevention protocols

• Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and provide appropriate instruments and supplies

• Perform surgical counts and maintain accurate documentation

• Review surgical preference cards and prepare appropriate instrumentation

• Inspect instruments and equipment for sterility, safety, and proper function

• Assist with patient preparation, positioning, and draping

• Handle surgical specimens according to established procedures

• Assist with operating room turnover and preparation for subsequent cases

• Maintain and organize surgical instruments and supplies

• Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia personnel, and other clinical staff

• Respond appropriately to emergency situations

• Follow departmental policies, procedures, and patient safety standards

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

• Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential

• Current BLS certification

• Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique

• Experience working in a hospital or medical center operating room

• Ability to work with a variety of surgical specialties

• Strong communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Weeks Medical Center is a 25-bed critical access hospital in Lancaster and provides surgical services as part of its inpatient and outpatient care.
