Job Summary:
The Cultivation Manager at Maven Genetics is a leadership position responsible for overseeing daily cultivation operations while supporting the Director of Cultivation and Director of Operations. This role ensures cultivation and processing activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all SOPs and regulatory requirements. The Cultivation Manager serves as a key liaison between department teams and executive leadership, driving operational excellence, quality assurance, and workforce performance across the facility.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversees day-to-day operations across cultivation departments including Fertigation, Veg, Bloom, Maintenance, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
- Conducts daily check-ins with supervisors and team leads to ensure SOP adherence, quality standards, and operational efficiency.
- Supports the Director of Cultivation and Director of Operations in planning, staffing, and execution of cultivation and processing activities.
- Monitors project timelines, production goals, and workforce attendance to ensure operational targets are met.
- Ensures consistent implementation of quality control processes and compliance with state and local cannabis regulations.
- Maintains daily communication with executive leadership, providing updates on operations, staffing, performance, and compliance matters.
- Coordinates cross-departmental activities to ensure alignment and collaboration between teams.
- Schedules staff and temporary labor; reviews and verifies timesheets, labor hours, and related invoices.
- Supports supervisors and team leads by ensuring adequate staffing levels, equipment, and supplies are available to meet production needs.
- Develops and supports performance management initiatives, including staff evaluations, coaching, and corrective action when necessary.
- Identifies training needs and collaborates with leadership to implement development programs.
- Conducts audits, inspections, and reviews to ensure ongoing SOP, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Manages inventory levels, supply logs, and resource utilization to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
- Oversees project planning, timelines, and milestones; adjusts plans as needed to meet operational objectives.
- Documents employee performance issues and operational challenges, escalating significant concerns to senior leadership with recommended solutions.
- Participates in mandatory annual training sessions to remain current on safety standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Ensures compliance with PPE requirements and facility safety protocols.
- Performs other duties as assigned by leadership in support of business objectives.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience in cultivation management or related operations within cannabis or agricultural production.
- Strong understanding of cannabis cultivation practices, quality assurance, SOPs, and regulatory compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams, supervisors, and cross-functional departments.
- Experience with project management, workforce planning, and inventory/resource management.
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in agriculture, horticulture, or related field preferred.
Requirements:
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible onsite hours as required by business needs.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform repetitive movements.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry supplies or equipment (typically up to 30 pounds).
- Ability to move throughout cultivation facilities, including indoor grow rooms, processing areas, warehouses, and other operational spaces.

- Loud noise from machinery or equipment.
- Nutrients, IPM products, and agricultural chemicals.
- Pollen or other agricultural allergens.
- CO₂- enriched cultivation rooms.
- Temperature and humidity variations across workspaces.
