Job DetailsWe are seeking an experienced Curative Attorney to become a part of our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to manage and grow the practice area for our firm. You will likely supervise younger attorneys as the work continues to expand.The successful candidate will be comfortable handling probates, estate administrations, quiet title actions, and transactional or conveyance drafting. You will need to be licensed (or willing to waive in or become licensed) in several jurisdictions, including Wyoming, North Dakota, Colorado, and Texas.Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to identify and rectify title defects in oil and gas transactions.
  • Draft and review transactional documents, including conveyance documents, to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Lead quiet title actions, effectively managing all aspects of the litigation process from initiation to resolution.
  • Collaborate with various teams, including landmen, title analysts, and other attorneys, to ensure accurate and efficient resolution of curative matters.
Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed, or willing to waive in, to Texas, Colorado, Wyoming, and North Dakota.
  • Proven experience in oil and gas law, with a focus on title curative work.
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of quiet title actions, transactional drafting, and conveyance drafting.
  • Excellent research, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex legal information to clients and team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in using legal research software and other relevant technologies.
  • A strong commitment to ethical legal practice and excellent client service.
