Custodian

Providence Staffing's client is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Custodian to join their team in Phenix City, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary facility while ensuring a professional appearance throughout the building. This position requires someone who takes pride in their work, follows safety procedures, and can work independently with minimal supervision.

Essential Job Duties

• Clean and maintain offices, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and common areas.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and buff floors as needed.
• Empty trash and recycling containers and replace liners.
• Clean and sanitize restrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and fixtures.
• Restock restroom supplies, including soap, paper towels, and toilet tissue.
• Dust furniture, windowsills, vents, and other surfaces.
• Clean interior glass, windows, and entryways.
• Maintain break rooms by cleaning tables, countertops, appliances, and sinks.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged equipment promptly.
• Follow all company safety policies and properly handle cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Assist with special cleaning projects and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
• Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums, floor scrubbers, buffers, and mops.
• Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and safe handling of cleaning chemicals.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently.
• Dependable with a strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand, bend, stoop, and walk for extended periods.
• Reliable transportation and a strong attendance record are required.

Compensation

Pay: $11.00 per hour

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday–Friday
• Day shift (hours may vary based on client needs)
