Custodian

Position Summary:

The Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment across all facilities at the Sandhills Global Youth Complex, including restrooms, concessions areas, office spaces, and other indoor/outdoor public areas. This role plays a key part in delivering a positive experience for athletes, visitors, staff, and guests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize restrooms regularly throughout the day.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and/or power wash walkways, entryways, and building interiors.

• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from all designated areas.

• Restock supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and sanitizers.

• Monitor cleanliness of spectator areas; perform spot cleaning as needed.

• Assist with event setup and breakdown, including moving chairs, tables, and equipment.

• Identify and report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, broken fixtures, safety hazards).

• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and pressure washers.

• Follow safety protocols and use appropriate PPE when handling chemicals or equipment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Prior custodial or facility maintenance experience is a plus.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand or walk for extended periods, and perform physical tasks.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and event-based schedules.

• Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.

• Ability to interact courteously with guests, staff, and youth athletes.

  Additional Requirements

  • Successful completion of a background check is required.

  • Must be eligible to work in environments where minors are present.

  Working Environment

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to indoor and outdoor conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but may become escalated at times.
