Job Description

Mount Mercy University campus is seeking a dedicated and dependable Custodian to join our Facilities Department. As a member of our custodial staff, you will be responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness across assigned areas of campus. This role plays a vital part in ensuring a safe, welcoming, and sanitary environment for students, staff, faculty, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

Respond promptly and effectively to custodial emergencies.
Ensure assigned areas are cleaned and maintained daily.
Promote and adhere to all safety standards for your own safety and that of others using the spaces you clean.
Exhibit professionalism in conduct, attire, and attitude.
Complete assigned tasks and additional duties as requested by the supervisor.
Foster respectful and courteous customer service relationships with faculty, staff, students, and fellow team members.

Qualifications:

Previous custodial or cleaning experience preferred, but not required
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong attention to detail
Commitment to safety and cleanliness standards
Positive attitude and willingness to be a team player

Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
May be required to work during evenings or weekends, depending on scheduling needs
