Custodian

The YMCA of the Roses is seeking a dependable Full-Time Custodian to help keep our York facilities clean, safe, and welcoming for our members, staff, and community.This position is responsible for routine cleaning and custodial duties throughout the facility, including restrooms, locker rooms, common areas, program spaces, and other assigned areas. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, is reliable, and enjoys being part of a team that makes a difference in the community.POSITION SUMMARY:This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas, including such duties as mopping, dusting, and trash removal. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, painting, vacuuming, seasonal activities dealing with lawn care and snow removal, and general cleaning.Operate related motorized and non-motorized equipment

Records and reports all needed repairs; repairs as directed

Ensures YMCA building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor

Keep surrounding outdoor areas litter free

Replaces soap, paper towels, and other supplies

Set up furniture for events as instructed

Be supportive of YMCA procedures and policies

Work with limited supervision

Wear proper footwear, no open toed shoes

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents

Ability to report and record maintenance requests

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment

Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment
