Job Description
We are seeking a dependable Custodian to maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe environment throughout the college campus. This is a hands-on position involving routine cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, stairways, and other campus areas. The Custodian will also be required to report to campus during inclement weather to assist with snow removal and cleanup.
Training Schedule:Saturday through Wednesday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
Regular Schedule After Training:Tuesday through Saturday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM
Candidates must be able to accommodate both schedules!
Essential Functions:
Disinfect classroom chairs, desks, whiteboards, and other classroom furniture to help maintain a healthy learning environmentClean and sanitize restrooms in accordance with established practices and proceduresSweep, mop, and/or vacuum hallwaysEmpty and clean ashtrays and cigarette receptaclesClean windowsSweep and mop stairwaysWipe down walls and other surfaces as neededDuring inclement weather, report to campus to clear walkways of snow and assist with cleanup during snowstorms
RequirementsPrevious custodial, janitorial, or commercial cleaning experience preferredAbility to lift 25 - 50 lbs and perform physical cleaning dutiesAbility to climb a ladderDependable and able to work the required scheduleMust be able to report during inclement weather as needed
