Job Description

About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Custom Home Construction Site Manager / Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day construction of multiple custom homes throughout Hilton Head Island and Bluffton.

This is a full-time, field-based position for someone who takes pride in building exceptional homes and understands that quality construction requires organization, communication, accountability, and attention to detail. You'll travel between active jobsites, each at different stages of construction, and ensure projects remain organized, properly scheduled, and built to the company's high standards.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional who understands residential construction sequencing, can coordinate multiple trades, and is willing to learn and grow within a company that places a strong emphasis on craftsmanship and doing things right.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily construction activities across approximately 2–7 active custom home projects, depending on project stages and needs.
  • Travel between jobsites throughout Hilton Head Island and Bluffton to monitor progress and coordinate field operations.
  • Manage construction schedules, trade sequencing, deliveries, materials, and subcontractor activities.
  • Direct subcontractors and trades on what needs to be done, when it needs to be done, and how the work should be completed.
  • Review plans, specifications, selections, and construction details before work begins.
  • Inspect workmanship and ensure work meets approved plans, selections, building codes, and our company's quality standards.
  • Identify potential conflicts, delays, and construction issues early and work proactively to resolve them.
  • Verify products, colors, finishes, sizes, and locations against approved selections.
  • Maintain punch lists and ensure corrections are completed properly and on schedule.
  • Coordinate inspections, final punch, cleaning, turnover, and warranty items.
  • Maintain clean, safe, organized, and professional jobsites.
  • Communicate project status, schedule concerns, material needs, and construction issues promptly to the office and project team.
  • Coordinate homeowner site visits and walkthroughs as needed.
  • Work closely with project management, selections/design teams, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Represent the company professionally in all interactions.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of residential construction experience preferred.
  • Experience with custom, high-end, or detail-oriented residential construction strongly preferred.
  • Commercial construction experience may be considered when combined with meaningful residential experience.
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, and jobsite coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Strong knowledge of high-end finishes and the attention to detail required to deliver quality custom homes.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors, trades, and projects at different stages.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to hold subcontractors accountable while maintaining professional working relationships.
  • Comfortable working independently in the field and communicating effectively with the office.
  • Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, email, Microsoft Office, and/or construction software.

The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for someone who is:

  • A strong communicator who keeps the team informed and follows through on commitments.
  • Organized and proactive, with the ability to anticipate issues before they become costly problems.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong eye for workmanship, finishes, and construction quality.
  • Accountable and dependable, someone who takes ownership of the jobsite and the finished product.
  • A team player who works well with subcontractors, homeowners, and office staff.
  • Willing to learn and grow, with the humility to accept direction and the initiative to develop their skills.
  • Proud of their work and professional reputation, understanding that how you conduct yourself reflects on the company you represent.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Site Manager keeps multiple projects organized, safe, moving, and on schedule while ensuring the finished homes reflect our company's high standards.

You'll be someone the office can rely on to identify issues early, communicate clearly, manage subcontractors effectively, and take ownership of the details that make a custom home exceptional.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting salary around $75,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
  • Health insurance with approximately 50% of the premium covered by the company.
  • Gas card for work-related travel.
  • Performance review after 90 days.
  • Performance-based bonuses throughout the year, including a Christmas bonus.
  • Opportunities for advancement in both compensation and responsibility.
  • Potential use of a company vehicle, depending on the arrangement.

If you're someone who takes pride in your work, shows up ready to work, and wants to grow with a quality-focused team, we'd love to hear from you.
