Job Description
Madden Industrial Craftsmen is seeking a Customer Account Representativefor our client in Portland, OR. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail and multitasking skills to manage customer orders, inventory, and account coordination from start to finish.
Pay & Schedule
Pay: $28$30/hr
Schedule: MondayFriday, 8:00 AM5:00 PM.
What You'll Do
Serve as the primary point of contact for incoming customer orders answering phones, confirming receipt within 3 hours, and keeping order files current and organized.
Keep outbound freight moving on schedule by coordinating HPP and common carrier shipments to meet daily cutoffs, securing freight quotes, and arranging pickups for customers.
Own the order-to-invoice cycle from start to finish: pull BOLs for billing, issue RMAs with supporting paperwork, generate and submit customer invoices, and process debit/credit memos when adjustments are needed.
Monitor inventory health by flagging discrepancies to purchasing.
Provide backup coverage for teammates double-checking orders and stepping in on shared responsibilities when another CSR is out.
Act as account manager for third-party inventory customers, receiving and logging stock, distributing paperwork, and delivering cycle counts and inventory reports on request.
Manage inventory replenishment for assigned accounts, maintaining customer min/max levels, placing purchase orders with vendors, and arranging carrier transport.
What You'll Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
2+ years of customer service, order processing, or account management experience, ideally in a distribution, chemical, or industrial environment.
Experience with ERP or order management software (e.g., Chempax or similar) preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order processing, invoicing, and documentation.
Ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a customer-first approach.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments, including warehouse, purchasing, AR, and sales.
Ability to complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

Work Environment
This role is based in an office environment, working at a desk and phone for most of the shift with a mix of sitting and standing.
