Job Description:The Field Service Technician serves as a front-line technical representative responsible for on-site maintenance, repair, and support of electronic and electromechanical equipment within customer environments. This role requires strong hands-on technical skills, effective time management, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues at the field-replaceable unit (FRU) or module level.The technician is expected to follow established procedures, complete standardized service activities, and escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership of assigned service calls through resolution in accordance with service-level agreements (SLAs).Key Responsibilities:
- Perform minor maintenance, repairs, and component replacement at the module (FRU) level.
- Diagnose equipment issues using service calls, system alerts, and error logs.
- Maintain accurate parts inventory and associated documentation.
- Provide status updates and service reports throughout the repair lifecycle.
- Retain ownership of assigned customer issues through resolution in accordance with SLAs.
- Adhere to security and safety procedures when working with equipment and within regulated customer environments.
- Complete required technical training and certifications as assigned.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting of service calls, activities, and required documentation.
- Ability to bend, squat, walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods.
- Ability to lift, carry, and handle tools, equipment, or parts weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Travel within assigned service territory;prolonged or frequent travel may be required.
- Work may be assigned on a scheduled or call-by-call dispatch basis.
- Availability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 0–1 year of related technical or field service experience.
- Reliable transportation.
- Smartphone (Android or iOS) capable of receiving work orders and accessing support documentation.
- Ownership of basic hand tools (tools are not provided), including flathead and Phillip’s screwdrivers (#1 and #2).
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, overtime, on-call, and variable shifts.
- High level of personal integrity and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic electrical and mechanical aptitude and foundational troubleshooting skills.
- Strong problem-solving ability and capacity to learn new systems and procedures quickly.
- Ability to perform effectively in time-sensitive and high-pressure situations.
- Associate degree in a technical or related field.
- Prior experience servicing automated equipment, self-service devices, or similar electromechanical systems.
