Ohio Department of Public Safety- Bureau of Motor Vehicles/Remittance Verification Unit

Report in Location: 1970 West Broad Street, Columbus, OH 43223

Work Hours: Monday- Friday, 7:00 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

What You'll Do as a Customer Service Assistant 2

  • Respond to inquiries, requests for information &/or complaints that require in-depth knowledge of applicable laws, rules, policies & procedures as they pertain in given situation:
  • Respond to telephone &/or written inquiries in a professional & timely manner; Process request for items related to vehicle registration;
  • Provide assistance & information to customers, business people, government agencies & the general public in reference to vehicle registration;
  • Respond to requests & inquiries received via telephone & U.S. mail in response to applications that may have been rejected due to incomplete information or monies received;
  • Operate personal computer by key entering information into computer file to generate a registration;
  • Verify applications, checks & money orders keyed in vehicle registration/driver's license (VR/DL), or Business Applications Service System (BASS) for completion, errors or duplication of work.

9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in office practices & procedures;

AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in public relations or customer service that included techniques for handling difficult people;

AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in typing, keyboarding, data entry or word processing;

AND 9 mos. trg. or 9 mos. exp. in operation of personal computer.

  • Or equivalent of Minimum Qualifications for Employment noted above.
