Summary:
The Customer Service Associate (CSA) is responsible for providing courteous and efficient service to customers in all areas of the Colville Fuels store, including cashiering, deli food preparation and service, and propane filling. This position handles sales transactions, supports food service operations, fills and exchanges propane tanks (upon completion of required certification), and ensures a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Responsibilities include stocking merchandise, monitoring inventory, and maintaining compliance with all company and tribal policies and regulations.
Essential Functions:
Customer Service:
- Greet customers warmly and assist with inquiries, product information, and store promotions.
- Handle customer concerns and escalate issues to management as needed.
- Deliver prompt and efficient service at checkout, deli, and outdoor propane station.
Cashier Duties:
- Operate cash register and point-of-sale (POS) system to process sales, returns, and payments.
- Handle cash, checks, credit, and debit transactions accurately and efficiently.
- Issue receipts, process refunds, and handle exchanges per company policy.
Deli/Food Service Duties:
- Prepare, package, and serve deli food items following food safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized food prep and service area.
- Restock food, beverage, and supply items as needed.
- Comply with state and tribal food handling regulations.
Propane Filling & Exchange:
- Safely fill and exchange propane tanks for customers in accordance with Washington State and Colville Fuels safety policies.
- Inspect propane tanks for compliance and report any concerns or safety issues to management.
- Complete and maintain required certification or training for handling propane.
Operations Support:
- Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining merchandise displays.
- Monitor inventory levels and inform management of shortages.
- Perform light cleaning tasks, including sweeping, dusting, and trash disposal.
- Ensure all store areas, aisles, and entryways are clean and accessible.
- Assist with periodic inventory counts and loss prevention measures.
Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all company policies and cash handling procedures.
- Adhere to safety guidelines for theft prevention and emergency procedures.
- Comply with food handling and propane safety regulations as required by Washington State.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or technical issues promptly to management.
Additional Duties:
- Answer incoming calls and online requests for room reservations.
- Provide detailed information about hotel facilities, services, and room types.
- Accurately enter and update reservations in the hotel's booking system.
- Process payments, deposits, and guarantee information according to hotel policies.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Shift Supervisor or management.
