Job Description

Why Patients Need You

Our dedicated manufacturing logistics and supply team ensures that customers and patients receive the essential medicines they require precisely when they need them. By embracing challenges, envisioning new possibilities, and taking decisive action, you will contribute to delivering medicines to the world with greater speed and efficiency. Join us in our mission to make a tangible difference in patients' lives by overcoming obstacles and pushing the boundaries of what is achievable.

What You Will Achieve

In this role, you will:

  • Support day-to-day Sales Order Management activities. This role plays a critical role in ensuring appropriate amounts of inventory are shipped to optimize the availability of Pfizer products and ensure the integrity of quarterly revenue.  The role is responsible for wholesaler order and inventory management across hundreds of NDCs in the U.S. market. This role works with internal stakeholders to execute developed strategies by leveraging Pfizer’s systems, including SAP, BI/BOBJ and Insight.  This role will work closely with Supply Planning, Deployment, Distribution, Customer Service, Brand Management, and SAP/BI/BT to help minimize the impact on customers/patients from any supply constrained product.  The position requires self-direction and the ability to apply complex business rules to achieve business objectives and compliance with internal controls.

  • Perform detailed reviews of major wholesalers’ purchase orders to ensure appropriate quantities are shipped. Recommend decreased order quantities to ensure alignment of underlying demand and negotiate acceptance of all quantity changes with customers.

  • Proactively identify significant changes in market demand and work with the Portfolio team and Supply Chain Management to determine how to manage the event.

  • Perform ongoing master data maintenance activities required for effective order management, DSA execution and compliance, and reporting accuracy. Provides back up support for all material master updates assigned to Trade Operations.

  • Coordinates activities across stakeholders to effectively manage products in short supply.  Executes strategies by leveraging tools in SAP and Insight, including Allocation, Reserve, Drop Ship, and backorder releases for Pfizer Injectables.  Execute fair share allocations on backordered and short supply items to ensure equitable distribution to the Trade.

  • Provides timely updates on product status to Customer Service colleagues, so they have the most accurate and up to date information from which to work and are able to minimize the impact on both our trading partners and ultimately the patients who depend on our products.

  • Continuously monitors Pfizer’s inventory across multiple Logistic Centers (LC) for issues.  Develops plans of action, including updating SAP to ship from an alternate site/plant, in order to minimize backorders.

  • Manages Material Reservation, including Reserves for Government Contracting, Medical Reserve/High Interest products, and Backorder Allocation.  Distributes daily reporting for clear visibility throughout the organization.  Performs regular analysis to ensure quantities for Medical Reserve/High Interest materials are in line with most recent demand.

  • Supports ad hoc operational reporting requests from management, Finance, and others.  Provides analysis to management on key drivers and trends behind operational reports (returns, order frequency, backorder metrics, etc.)

  • Coordinates the execution of finished good material changeovers (moving from one finished goods number to another) as well as product discontinuations, including SAP master data updates and stakeholder notification.  In addition, responsible for responding to internal stakeholder’s requests for material selling status, date of discontinuation as well as last lot and expiration upon request.

  • Supports special projects as assigned including product launches, LOE events, and miscellaneous internal and external requests.

  • Collaborates with management team to examine practices and procedures as part of a continuous business improvement effort. Trains and mentors Customer Service team members on SAP, BI/BOBJ reporting, and Excel analysis.

  • Works with the SAP team and management to research, troubleshoot and provide resolution on allocation issues, inventory discrepancies, material status issues, and logistic open orders.

  • Supports Sarbanes Oxley by adhering to the internal controls.

  • Maintain and demonstrate a working knowledge of products, Pfizer Terms of Sale, SAP and Customer Service processes and procedures.
