Job Description

Chathams Small Animal Hospital is excited to welcome a friendly, motivated Customer Service Representative to our growing team! If you love working with people, have a passion for pets, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

Our Customer Service Representatives are the heart of our practice—they are often the first point of contact for our clients and play a vital role in creating a positive experience for both pets and their people.

About us:We are a multi-doctor small animal practice serving canines and felines. Our team focuses on individualized care and medical protocols tailored to each patient and client.

What you’ll do day to day:

  • Greet clients with warmth and professionalism, in person and over the phone

  • Answer a multi-line phone system and assist clients efficiently

  • Schedule appointments accurately, including identifying urgent vs. non-urgent needs

  • Process payments, refunds, and credits

  • Maintain and update patient records with attention to detail

  • Respond to client emails and navigate multiple veterinary software platforms

  • Learn and become comfortable with basic veterinary terminology and products

What we’re looking for:

  • A positive, friendly attitude and strong communication skills

  • Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy environment

  • A team player who collaborates well with doctors and support staff

  • Commitment to maintaining a professional, supportive workplace culture

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required

  • At least one year of customer service experience preferred

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and assist as needed in a clinical environment

Schedule expectations:

  • Evening shifts are required

  • Must be available to work Saturdays as needed (we are typically only open 1–2 Saturdays per month)
