We are now looking for a Customs Compliance Analyst- U.S. Import Operations to join our team working for a better future.

The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Hybrid).

Alternative location: Houston, Texas.

What You Will Be Doing?

The Customs Compliance Analyst supports the Global Customs Management team by coordinating and overseeing U.S. import customs operations, ensuring compliance with U.S. regulations and evolving trade policies. You will act as the local subject matter expert, working closely with brokers, government agencies, and internal stakeholders to enable compliant and efficient import flows.

This role combines operational and analytical work and reports to the Customs Compliance Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for U.S. customs‑related matters.
  • Coordinate customs clearances and daily interactions with customs brokers.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. import laws, regulations, and documentation requirements.
  • Identify and mitigate customs compliance risks and support duty and tariff optimization.
  • Support inbound logistics and import flow monitoring.
  • Assist with tariff‑related developments, duty refunds, and regulatory changes.
  • Track and reconcile import data, duty payments, and refund claims.
  • Use SAP, Excel, and automation tools to streamline reports and workflows.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on customs requirements and regulatory impacts.
  • Support ForeignTrade Zone processes when required.
  • Provide customs guidance, regulatory interpretation, and training to internal stakeholders.
  • Stay current with international trade developments, U.S. foreign policy shifts, and industry changes impacting imports.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, International Trade, or related field).
  • 3+ years of experience in U.S. import customs operations.
  • Hands‑on experience working with customs brokers and managing compliance matters.
  • Background in import‑intensive companies or customs/trade brokerage environments.

Skills & Technical Requirements:

  • SAP.
  • Advanced Excel skills (formulas, data manipulation; automation preferred).
  • Familiarity with Power Automate or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and apply customs regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to translate regulations for stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and proactively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with automation or AI‑assisted workflow improvements.
  • Experience in multicultural or global organizations.
  • Exposure to U.S. energy‑related imports or fast‑changing regulatory environments.
  • Ability to handle both clerical and analytical customs tasks.
  • Experience obtaining product specs from global teams for accurate classification.
  • Capability in HTSUS classification is highly valued.

Travel Requirements:

Some domestic travel is required. While most interactions are virtual, expect occasional travel of approximately 5-10%.

Successful applicants must be authorized to work in USA without sponsorship.

The starting salary for this position would be determined with consideration of the successful candidate's relevant education, individual skill set, level of experience applicable to the role they are being offered and consideration of internal equity.
