Position Overview
The client is seeking a Security Analyst / Consultant to join a high-performing team delivering security assessments and advisory services for federal and commercial clients. This role focuses on supporting FISMA and FedRAMP compliance, working with modern cloud, AI, and enterprise security technologies, and developing deep expertise in regulatory frameworks and risk-based security programs.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with information security principles, NIST 800-53 frameworks, and translating compliance requirements into practical technical and operational solutions. This is a client-facing role requiring strong consulting, project delivery, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Develop Security Authorization Packages aligned with FISMA and FedRAMP requirements under the guidance of senior consultants.
Create and maintain key security artifacts, including:
System Security Plans (SSP)
Contingency Plans
Configuration Management Plans
Incident Response Plans
Privacy Impact Assessments
Security Assessment Plans and Reports
Review Security Authorization Packages to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal standards.
Conduct client interviews and workshops to gather information for security assessments.
Maintain current and accurate security documentation throughout the system lifecycle.
Analyze vulnerability scan results using tools such as SentinelOne, Qualys, AppDetective, WebInspect, IBM AppScan, and Burp Suite.
Collaborate with clients to define risk mitigation strategies and prioritize remediation actions.
Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted security advisor.
Facilitate working sessions to align project scope, expectations, and timelines.
Establish and improve security standards, procedures, and controls to reduce organizational risk.
Support project delivery from initiation to closure, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Collaborate with internal cross-functional teams to ensure successful security engagement execution.
Stay current with evolving regulatory frameworks, cloud security trends, and emerging threats.
Required Qualifications
3 5 years of experience in information security, risk management, or compliance consulting.
Familiarity with FISMA and NIST 800-series frameworks (800-30, 800-37, 800-53, 800-53A, 800-60).
Strong understanding of risk assessment, control implementation, and security documentation.
Experience supporting FedRAMP or federal security compliance initiatives.
Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and client engagement skills.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, client-driven environments.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications such as CISSP, CEH, CAP, Security+, GSEC, CCNA, CCNP, CASP, or AWS certifications.
Experience with SOC 2, PCI-DSS, Reg SCI, or other regulatory frameworks.
Experience with cloud environments, e.g., AWS or Azure.
Exposure to security tools such as Splunk or ServiceNow.
Experience supporting AI or cloud-native security programs.
Consulting or client-facing experience.
