Job Description
We are seeking an AI engineer to design and develop auto-labeling algorithms and platforms to facilitate AI model development for the Perception component of our autonomous driving stack. In this role, you will work closely with Machine Learning engineers, data scientists, and software engineers to build scalable and high-performance pipelines that auto-label PBs of multimodal data and manage versioned datasets used by ML engineers to prototype and train online models with maximized productivity.
The Perception Labeling and Tools team aims to automate the dataloop and lead data-driven model development platforms and processes. The team is responsible for:
- Data mining tools and data pipelines, such as active learning framework, miner scheduling and visualization tools, CLIP embedding indexes, etc.
- Labeling platforms such as human labeling web apps, labeling task and labeler management platform, auto-labeling pipelines.
- Dataset management app for label data curation and versioned dataset management and model-loop integration.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate with ML engineers to research, implement, or improve autolabeling algorithms to generate auto-labeled data for model training and prototyping.
- Work with ML engineers and data scientists to evaluate auto-label data quality and seek a feedback loop to continuously improve model performance.
- Work with other software engineers in the team to integrate auto-label datasets and pipelines into the Dataloop platform to deliver impact on end-to-end data-driven ML development.
- Continuously define problems and opportunities to iterate the application with a visionary product roadmap that keeps stakeholders on the same page.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in autonomous driving perception and machine learning, especially auto-labeling and unsupervised learning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering and data-driven ML development.
- Experience with data management tools and frameworks.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
Bonus Qualifications
- Experience in scalable AI computation frameworks such as Ray.
- Experience with human labeling or auto-labeling.
- Experience in ML-related development in the Autonomous Driving industry.
Compensation and Benefits
There are three major components to compensation for this position: salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary will range from $197,000-$252,000. A sign-on bonus may be part of a compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
