Job Description

The YMCA of Central Texas is searching for passionate, energetic positive role models to join our team as ChildWatch Counselors!

The ideal ChildWatch Counselor is a strong communicator and problem solver who is able to engage with children aged 6 weeks to 13 years.

This is a Part-Time position. Monday- Friday 8:00am- 12:00pm, as well as weekend shifts Saturdays 8:00am-1:00pm, Sundays 1:00pm-4:00pm . Must be flexible to work during school breaks.

We are offering $250 bonus for new staff!

Essential Functions:

Ensure the safety of participants at all times through active supervision while meeting the individual needs of each child in their care
Model the YMCA core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect and Responsibility at all times
Be an appropriate, positive role model

Skills/ Requirements:

High school Diploma/GED preferred
Must be at least 17 years of age
Must be able to be on your feet the entire length of your shift and be able to lift up to 40lbs
Must possess strong customer service and interpersonal skills
12 months experience working with children preferred
Be friendly, courteous, enthusiastic, possess a cooperative attitude, and be a team player
Be CPR/AED and First Aid certified or willing to be certified within first 30 days of employment
Must be able to pass reference checks, criminal history background check, Sex Offender Registry check, and pre-employment drug screen prior to hiring

Pay Rate: $13.00 to $15.00/hour
