ABOUT THE ROLE

Hut 8 is seeking a Data Center Design Summer Intern to support the engineering team across active data center projects. This role will focus on executing smaller but critical tasks across design backlogs, including drawings, documentation, research, and material reviews. The intern will be embedded in day-to-day engineering workflows, contributing to design discussions and gaining exposure to electrical, mechanical, and network systems within a live data center environment. Strong performers will be considered part of the long-term engineering talent pipeline. 

Some of the responsibilities you can expect include the following: 

• Support design efforts through drawings, documentation, and material reviews

• Assist with research and analysis across electrical, mechanical, and building control systems

• Contribute to engineering backlogs by completing smaller, high-impact tasks

• Participate in design discussions and cross-functional engineering meetings

• Review and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation

• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners (e.g., EPCs, vendors, consultants)

• Support ongoing projects with structured, detail-oriented execution

ABOUT YOU

• Currently a junior, senior, or graduate student

• Pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field

• Basic understanding of electrical design, thermodynamics, hydronics, or building control systems

• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and engineering documentation

• High attention to detail and willingness to take ownership of tasks

• Interest in data center infrastructure and mission-critical engineering systems

• Prior internship/work experience in related industry
