Design Manager - Data Center ProjectsSalary: $180,000 - $230,000 + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits As a Design Manager, you will lead some of North America's most complex hyperscale data center projects, working directly with industry-leading clients while benefiting from a clear path into senior leadership. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of major project awards, this Design Manager opportunity offers the chance to influence multi-billion-dollar mission-critical developments from concept through delivery. The Opportunity This Design Manager position will see you leading multidisciplinary teams across large-scale colocation and hyperscale data center programs. You will play a pivotal role in delivering projects from site selection and due diligence through campus planning, detailed design, construction documentation, and construction administration. As a Design Manager, you will work closely with stakeholders, consultants, and technical specialists to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. What You Will Be Doing
- Lead hyperscale and colocation data center projects from feasibility through construction.
- Manage multidisciplinary design teams covering architecture, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, security, ICT, and controls.
- Develop and implement project and program management plans across multiple sites.
- Act as the key point of contact for client stakeholders and project teams.
- Drive project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and delivery milestones.
- Manage design changes and communicate impacts to all stakeholders.
- Identify risks early and implement practical solutions.
- Facilitate design workshops, coordination meetings, and project reviews.
- Support the preparation of technical and commercial proposals.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hyperscale and mission-critical clients.
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of experience in data center design, engineering, or project management.
- Proven experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data center projects.
- Strong understanding of mission-critical facilities and building systems.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to perform effectively in fast-paced project environments.
- Master's Degree in a relevant subject.
- Professional Engineer (PE) licence or Registered Architect qualification.
- 12+ years of design and project leadership experience.
- Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Professional (ATP).
- Lean Six Sigma certification.
- Active participation in the data center or mission-critical industry.
- Strong presentation and executive stakeholder engagement experience.
- Lead some of the largest hyperscale data center projects in North America.
