Data Center Operations Engineer (Night Shift) Reno, NevadaOur client, a rapidly growing operator of next-generation, high-density data center facilities, is seeking a Data Center Operations Engineer to join their night shift operations team in Reno, NV.This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on technical professional who enjoys working in mission-critical environments and wants to develop their expertise across electrical, mechanical, cooling, and IT infrastructure systems.About the RoleAs a Data Center Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of a high-availability facility. You'll help maintain uptime, perform preventative maintenance, support customer deployments, and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of critical infrastructure.Working closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, you'll gain exposure to cutting-edge technologies in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations & Facility Support
- Perform equipment installations, rack and stack activities, cabling, labeling, and facility inspections.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks and assist with corrective maintenance activities.
- Support the operation of BMS, CMMS, monitoring, and ticketing systems.
- Follow established SOPs, MOPs, and EOPs to ensure safe and consistent operations.
- Monitor electrical, cooling, mechanical, and IT systems.
- Assist in diagnosing and resolving infrastructure-related issues.
- Escalate incidents promptly and accurately to senior technical staff when required.
- Deliver remote hands services including hardware swaps, cable tracing, power cycling, and visual inspections.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders regarding service requests.
- Help ensure a high level of customer satisfaction through responsiveness and attention to detail.
- Maintain operational records, logs, and maintenance documentation.
- Support change management and incident reporting processes.
- Assist with inventory management, asset tracking, and spare parts control.
- Work alongside facilities, engineering, and operations teams on infrastructure upgrades and deployments.
- Support capacity expansion and operational improvement initiatives.
- Promote best practices around safety, quality, and operational excellence.
- Understanding of data center, critical facilities, telecommunications, or related technical environments.
- Working knowledge of electrical systems, cooling infrastructure, cabling, server hardware, or mechanical equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to follow technical procedures and safety standards.
- Experience with BMS, CMMS, monitoring tools, or ticketing systems is advantageous.
- 2+ years of experience in a data center, critical facility, telecommunications, industrial, or technical operations environment.
- Hands-on experience with equipment installation, cabling, preventative maintenance, or infrastructure support.
- Familiarity with mission-critical environments and operational procedures.
- Ability to work night shifts and support a 24/7 operational environment.
- Consistent delivery of operational tasks with a strong focus on safety and accuracy.
- Effective support of maintenance activities that improve facility reliability and uptime.
- Proactive identification and escalation of potential issues.
- Accurate documentation and operational reporting.
- Continuous development of technical expertise across power, cooling, and IT systems.
