Job Description
Position SummaryThe Data Center Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe, healthy, and compliant work environment within the data center. This role supports Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs by ensuring compliance with OSHA and company safety policies, conducting inspections, coordinating safety training, investigating incidents, and working closely with operations, facilities, contractors, and vendors to minimize workplace risks.Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine safety inspections and audits of data center facilities.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, local safety codes, and company EHS policies.
- Coordinate and deliver safety orientation and training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Monitor contractor safety performance and verify compliance with site safety requirements.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and safety concerns; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate safety documentation, training records, inspection reports, and incident logs.
- Assist with emergency preparedness planning, evacuation drills, and business continuity exercises.
- Participate in Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and risk assessments for maintenance and operational activities.
- Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), confined space, electrical safety, hot work, and permit-required activities.

- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work in environments with mechanical, electrical, and cooling equipment.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Safety, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 5 years of experience in workplace safety, preferably in a data center, manufacturing, industrial, or critical facilities environment.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and EHS best practices.
- Experience conducting safety inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and safety management software.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- OSHA 30-Hour General Industry certification.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
- First Aid, CPR, and AED certification.
- Experience with ISO 45001, NFPA standards, or environmental compliance programs.
- Familiarity with critical infrastructure or mission-critical facility operations.
