Job Overview

The Client Analytics Team is seeking a Data Engineer with hands‑on experience in building and automating Python-based ETL pipelines, particularly using Flask and Apache Airflow. This role will focus on designing, orchestrating, and maintaining data pipelines that integrate data from Snowflake, flat files, and public APIs. You’ll work closely with analysts, data scientists, and product stakeholders to ensure trustworthy, production‑grade data delivery. While you don’t need to be a generalist in all engineering domains, deep experience with our core stack will allow you to quickly make an impact. Quarterly travel required to San Diego, CA or Fort Mill, SC.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain Python Flask ETL microservices and automated data pipelines.

  • Develop, schedule, and monitor workflows using Apache Airflow.

  • Implement data ingestion from diverse sources, including Snowflake, flat files, cloud storage, and public APIs.

  • Partner with analytics and business teams to understand data requirements and deliver reliable, well‑structured datasets.

  • Optimize pipeline performance, ensure data quality, and support production stability.

  • Contribute to DevOps best practices, including CI/CD workflows, testing, logging, and observability.

  • Document processes, data flows, and system dependencies for operational clarity.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience designing and buildingETL processes in Python.

  • Demonstrable hands-on experience with:

    • Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.

    • Integrating data from Snowflake, flat files, and REST/JSON public APIs.

    • SQL, data modeling, and production data engineering practices.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across distributed teams; quarterly travel is required.

Core Competencies

  • Strong problem‑solving ability with a focus on reliability and scalability.

  • Ability to break down ambiguous requirements into clear, technical solutions.

  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non‑technical partners.

Preferences

  • Experience working in financial services or wealth management environments.

  • Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Pay Range:

$87,756-$146,260/yearActual base salary varies based on factors, including but not limited to, relevant skill, prior experience, education, base salary of internal peers, demonstrated performance, and geographic location.
