Job Description

Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

Location: Richardson, TX (Hybrid 3 days onsite)Duration: Long-term Contract

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data architecture. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data warehousing, ETL/ELT processes, and cloud-based data platforms, with the ability to handle large-scale structured and unstructured data.

Required Qualifications

8+ years of experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
6+ years of experience with Python (or similar scripting language)
10+ years of experience in data warehousing, including data modeling and architecture
10+ years of experience in ETL/ELT development and building high-volume data pipelines (batch & real-time)
10+ years of experience with query optimization, data structures, and workload management
10+ years of experience building data pipelines in cloud environments
4+ years of experience with Big Data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) and cloud architecture
3+ years of experience with reporting and analytics tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
Hands-on experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
Strong experience with Unix/Linux, Bash scripting, and shell commands
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines for large-scale data processing
Build and optimize data models and data warehouse architectures
Collaborate with business and analytics teams to improve data accessibility and reporting
Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and validation frameworks
Perform data analysis and troubleshooting to resolve data issues
Develop and maintain unit and integration tests
Work closely with BI teams, product managers, and stakeholders
Support data integration, profiling, and wrangling for analytics and AI/ML use cases
Contribute to technical documentation and engineering best practices
