At McLane, data powers every decision-from demand planning to last‑mile delivery. As Manager, Data Engineering & Analytics, you'll lead the teams and platforms that transform complex supply‑chain data into trusted, AI‑ready products used across the enterprise. This role blends people leadership, modern cloud data architecture, and real‑world operational impact at scale. The role oversees teams of analysts and developers who work across multiple analytics platforms - including Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, IBM Cognos, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Looker Core, Tableau, and Alteryx.

This is a hybrid position which will require the candidate to report and work from the office at least three days a week. Therefore, interested candidates should be within a 50-minute radius from Temple, TX.

Benefits you can count on:

  • Day 1 Benefits: medical, dental, and vision insurance, FSA/HSA, and company-paid life insurance
  • Paid time off begins day one.
  • 401(k) Profit Sharing Plan after 90 days.
  • Additional benefits: pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, employee assistance programs, discount programs, tuition reimbursement program, and more!

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, and develop a high‑performing data engineering organization, fostering accountability, inclusion, and continuous improvement
  • Own the architecture and roadmap for enterprise cloud data platforms (Lakehouse, data warehouse, streaming)
  • Deliver scalable, domain‑oriented data products with clear ownership, SLAs, and measurable business value
  • Develop and maintain high quality dashboards, reports, and interactive visualizations using Power BI, Looker, Tableau, and Cognos, including BI AI capabilities.
  • Enable analytics, BI, AI/ML, and GenAI use cases across planning, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, procurement, and fulfillment
  • Integrate complex enterprise data sources including ERP, WMS, TMS, OMS, EDI, IoT, and partner feeds
  • Partner with Analytics and Data Science teams on feature pipelines, experimentation, and production inference
  • Drive data governance, quality, security, privacy, and compliance (SOX, GDPR/CCPA)
  • Own reliability, observability, incident management, and run‑the‑business operations
  • Apply FinOps discipline to optimize platform cost, performance, and scalability

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • 5 years of data engineering and analytics experience and 3 years leading engineers or enterprise‑scale technical programs
  • Proven delivery of cloud data platforms supporting analytics and operational workloads
  • Strong hands‑on expertise with SQL and Python or Scala, plus CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code
  • Experience with modern data technologies (GCP, Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, dbt, Airflow/ADF, Kafka, Delta/Parquet/Iceberg)
  • Extensive proficiency in LookML and Looker Core for building semantic models and transforming data.
  • Demonstrated experience with data governance, lineage, security, and quality frameworks
  • Practical supply‑chain domain fluency across multiple areas (planning, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, procurement)
  • Familiarity with MDM, semantic layers, governed BI, and ML/GenAI enablement
  • This position requires the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
