Job Role: Data Information ArchitectJob Location: Washington, DC. (Remote)Job Type: Long Term Contract Job Summary:Role Overview Seeking an experienced Data Information Architect responsible for designing and governing the information architecture and data models across a complex Labor Management Operations ecosystem. This includes ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, optimizing performance, and maintaining data integrity across systems.Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise information architecture for labor management systems.
- Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models.
- Define and standardize database, event, and API data contracts.
- Analyze legacy systems (including mainframe environments) to guide future-state architecture.
- Build and maintain data pipelines, including change data capture for near real-time processing.
- Perform advanced database tuning and optimization.
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across platforms.
- Review and enhance database designs.
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership.
- Establish and enforce data governance, security, and management policies.
- Contribute to enterprise data management standards and best practices.
- 15+ years of experience in data architecture / data management.
- Strong experience with labor and transportation systems.
- Proven expertise in data modeling and information architecture.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
- Rail industry experience
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Schema Registry).
- Knowledge of distributed systems and middleware architecture.
- Advanced database programming and system design expertise.
- Familiarity with enterprise information management standards.
