Job Summary:
The Data Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s product data strategy, governance, and execution across ERP systems, product information databases, external distributors, and marketplace channels. This role ensures the accuracy, consistency, scalability, and integrity of all product master data across internal and external platforms.
The Data Manager partners cross-functionally with Operations, Sales, Marketing, IT, and external distribution partners to drive structured product data governance, support ERP enhancements, and enable seamless onboarding and lifecycle management of products. This position serves as the company’s subject matter expert and strategic owner for product data management.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Own and manage product master data governance across ERP, PIM, marketplace, and distributor platforms.
- Establish and maintain product data standards, documentation, and workflows to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Oversee onboarding of new products within the company’s ERP system and product information database.
- Manage and continuously improve item-level data accuracy throughout the product lifecycle.
- Lead preparation and submission of product data templates, catalogs, and content packages for industrial distributors and marketplace platforms.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for distributor and marketplace product data requirements and compliance.
- Conduct regular data audits and implement corrective actions to maintain data integrity across systems.
- Partner with IT and Operations to support ERP enhancements, feature rollouts, and system upgrades.
- Identify automation opportunities to reduce manual processes and minimize data errors.
- Develop reporting and KPI dashboards related to data accuracy, completeness, and onboarding cycle times.
- Train internal stakeholders on product data standards and best practices.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and scalability.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong understanding of master data management principles and data governance frameworks.
- Ability to design and improve structured workflows and scalable processes.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and root causes.
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems and product information management systems.
- Foundational knowledge of relational databases and SQL preferred.
- Basic scripting or automation experience strongly preferred.Strong problem-solving mindset with ownership mentality.

Compensation: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
