Make your mark for patients

We are looking for a Data Tokenization & Governance Lead with strong patient data expertise who is operationally driven, analytical and passionate to join us in our Global Data Acquisition and Advanced Analytics team. This position can be based in our Atlanta, Georgia, Raleigh, North Carolina, or Boston, Massachusetts. This hybrid role (at least 40% of the time in office) is limited to 10% travel domestically.

UCB has established a global data acquisition team to strengthen its enterprise data strategy and meet the evolving data needs of our diverse therapeutic areas and patient populations. By prioritizing high quality healthcare data, the team enables better decision making and improved patient outcomes. As part of this center of expertise, you will contribute to innovative data solutions that support UCB's expanding portfolio.

Who you'll work with

You will partner, globally, with cross-functional stakeholders, including Global Data Acquisition, Integrated Insights, Digital Technologies / Information Technology, Data Office, Real-World Evidence (RWE), Advanced Analytics, Translational Medicine, Medical/HEOR, New Product Planning, Developing Assets, Brand/Commercial teams.

What you'll do

You will partner with global teams to shape enterprise-wide data strategies, champion innovative privacy solutions, and lead proactive data quality initiatives that drive measurable business outcomes. In this role, you will:

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable data platforms and tokenization workflows across U.S. and global patient-level datasets.
  • Ensure robust compliance with HIPAA, CCPA, GDPR, and related regulatory frameworks, including ongoing monitoring and mitigation of re‑identification risks.
  • Manage third-party agreements (TPAs) in collaboration with privacy, data engineering, governance, and IT teams
  • Embed tokenization logic, quality rules, and access controls into enterprise pipelines.
  • Define, enforce, and monitor data quality standards for tokenized and linked datasets.
  • Establish and maintain an ethics oversight framework, including review processes, bias assessment, and compliance guardrails to support responsible data use.
  • Develop documentation, training materials, and best practices for data linkage and tokenization processes.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for tokenization questions, incidents, and enhancement requests.
  • Drive scalability, automation, and continuous improvement in tokenization, data connectivity, and cross functional data workflows.
  • Strengthen organizational capability by mentoring patient-data practitioners and fostering strong collaboration across Data Acquisition, the Data Office, Compliance, IT, analytics teams, and business partners.

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in quantitative area
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in actively connecting patient level data through tokenization
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience working with various forms of patient level pharmaceutical data

Preferred

  • Master/Doctorate's degree in quantitative area
  • Able to thrive in a fast paced, innovative environment while remaining‑ flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient
  • Strong knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry
  • Deep expertise in healthcare data, particularly U.S. and ex-U.S. patient‑level‑ claims data
  • Strong ability to translate diverse patient data‑ questions into analytical approaches
  • Creativity in integrating disparate datasets to solve complex business problems
  • Agile, test-and‑learn mindset
  • Skilled at tailoring communication to both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Creative problem-solving mindset to overcome technical and organizational roadblocks
  • Service oriented and results driven, with strong motivation to deliver meaningful impact

The reasonably anticipated salary range for this position is $125,600-$164,900 per year. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
