Job Description

As a Database Engineer at Resource Data, you will support and optimize Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems along with cloud infrastructure environments that power mission-critical applications. You will work closely with developers, IT-security teams, and government stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performing database and infrastructure solutions.

This role focuses on improving system performance, supporting modernization efforts, ensuring data integrity, and translating application requirements into effective database and infrastructure designs within a complex enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and support Oracle and PostgreSQL database systems in enterprise environments
Maintain and optimize cloud and hybrid infrastructure supporting critical applications
Translate application and software requirements into database and infrastructure solutions
Perform database tuning, performance optimization, and schema modifications
Support system integrations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes in coordination with stakeholders
Perform backup, recovery, and data integrity monitoring activities
Conduct security reviews and support IT-security validation and compliance efforts
Document system configurations, processes, changes, and operational procedures
Collaborate with developers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure reliable and secure system operations
Identify opportunities to improve performance, efficiency, and system architecture

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience
Experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database administration or engineering
Experience with database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting
Understanding of database architecture, data modeling, and system design principles
Experience supporting system backups, recovery, and data integrity processes
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in complex technical environments
Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong documentation and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supporting hybrid environments combining legacy systems with modern cloud infrastructure (specifically GCP)
Experience working in consulting environments involving direct client interaction and project delivery responsibilities
Experience delivering IT solutions with government agencies
