Job Description

Job Title: L1 Data Center TechnicianLocation: Portland, OR (Onsite)Rate: $27.5/hr on W2Employment: ContractMust be comfortable working in a rotational shift environment (No Night Shift).Looking for an experienced L1 Data Center Technician with 2–3 years of hands-on data center experience.Top Skills Required:• Strong understanding of data center components and hardware• Hands-on troubleshooting and break-fix experience• Cabling, labeling, cable management, and documentation disciplineKey Responsibilities:• Perform rack & stack activities for servers, network devices, and storage equipment• Handle fiber and copper cabling, patching, labeling, and cable management• Support hardware installation, relocation, and decommissioning• Manage hardware inventory, asset tracking, spares, and RMA coordination• Provide L1 troubleshooting support for server hardware and network connectivity issues• Perform remote hands support including cable reseating, power cycling, and hardware replacements• Monitor alerts, update tickets, and maintain accurate documentationRequired Technical Skills:• Basic networking knowledge (IP, switching, patching)• Server hardware knowledge• Fiber & Ethernet cabling experience• Experience with ticketing tools (ServiceNow preferred)• Basic console tools knowledge (SSH, PuTTY)
