Position: Daycare Preschool Teacher

Responsibilities
- Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment for preschool-aged children
- Implement age-appropriate lesson plans that are created for you
- Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe learning space.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to foster a supportive community.
- Participate in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Support children’s individual learning needs and encourage their social and emotional growth.
- Essential Functions include:
- Lift/carry children up to 30 lbs
- Emergency evacuation response
- Frequent standing, bending, kneeling
- Maintaining staff-to-child ratios
- Compliance with CA licensing
- These functions are essential due to safety and licensing requirements.
Qualifications
MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED
- 12 or more core units in Early Childhood Education Required.
- Work experience in a licensed child care facility as a preschool or prekindergarten teacher.
- Must meet basic requirements of local child care regulatory agency including finger-printing and background check
- Proficient computer and internet skills
- Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children
- Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
- Highly professional and dependable
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
- Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Must be able to lift up 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations.
