Job Description
East Liberty Family Health Care Center (ELFHCC) is a mission‑driven, community‑focused Federally Qualified Health Center providing compassionate, high‑quality care to patients across our four Pittsburgh‑area locations. We are seeking a dedicated Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team and support our dentists in delivering excellent, patient‑centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures
- Take and develop dental radiographs (x‑rays)
- Sterilize, disinfect, and maintain dental instruments and equipment
- Provide patients with pre‑ and post‑operative instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the dental EHR
- Manage patient flow to ensure efficient clinic operations
- Support inventory management, including ordering and stocking supplies
- Demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and a commitment to ELFHCC's mission
Qualifications
- Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program or equivalent on‑the‑job experience
- Current PA X‑ray Certification (or ability to obtain shortly after hire)
- Preferred:
- 1+ year experience as a dental assistant
- Familiarity with community health or FQHC settings
- Bilingual skills are a plus
