Join our dedicated team at Gundersen Health System as a Dental Assistant in our Prosthodontic team!

Gundersen Health System is a physician-led enterprise recognized for delivering high-quality healthcare services across Wisconsin. We are looking for a Dental Assistant with prior experience, someone who is a motivated and skilled individual to provide exceptional support to our dental professionals and ensure a positive experience for our patients.

Position: Dental Assistant

Department: Prosthodontic

Hours: 36 hours per week

Schedule: 7:00AM - 4:00PM, Monday - Thursday

Locations: Downtown Dental Specialties, La Crosse

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a daily caseload of 4-8 patients, assist providers during longer prosthodontic procedures, perform intraoral imaging and scanning, seat temporary crowns, take impressions, handle documentation in EPIC, and scribe for clinicians.
• Prep rooms, sterilize instruments, support basic lab work such as pouring impressions, answer MyChart messages, and maintain smooth workflow throughout the clinic.
• Work closely with a Maxillofacial Prosthodontist on bridges, dentures, crowns, and specialized facial prosthetics; the role offers strong opportunities for learning and growth within a highly procedural, hands‑on prosthodontic environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Desired: 1-2 years of work experience in a dental practice

• CPR for Health Care Providers (with hands on learning)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Experience working in electronic patient records (example Epic) is preferred

• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
