Job Description
- Post insurance and patient payments accurately.
- Submit and track electronic dental insurance claims.
- Research outstanding claims and follow up with insurance carriers.
- Contact insurance companies to resolve claim issues and payment delays.
- Submit claim appeals and supporting documentation when necessary.
- Review accounts receivable and maintain clean AR.
- Correct data entry errors preventing claims from processing.
- Clearly explain insurance benefits and reimbursement details.
- Document all claim research and communications in detail.
- Collaborate with team members and clients to resolve billing issues.
- Minimum 7 years of recent experience in the dental field.
- At least 5 years of recent experience using Dentrix.
- Extensive experience submitting and following up on dental insurance claims in a dental office environment.
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and CDT coding systems.
- Comprehensive knowledge of medical and dental terminology.
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and compliance.
- Experience with electronic claims submission, electronic patient billing, and attachments.
- Strong knowledge of accounts receivable management and insurance reimbursement processes.
- Familiarity with major insurance carriers including:
- Aetna
- CareFirst
- Cigna
- Delta Dental
- MetLife
- United Concordia
- Guardian
