Location: Oakland, CAPosition Type: Full-TimeSalary: $130,000 – $160,000 per yearSchedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Role Overview

As a Dental Hygienist at our community health clinic, you will play a key role in preventive oral care and patient education. Your day-to-day work supports early detection of oral health concerns, promotes long-term wellness, and helps reduce health disparities within the BIPOC community. You will work closely with dentists and care teams to deliver efficient, respectful, and culturally responsive dental services.

What You’ll Do

• Perform routine dental cleanings, scaling, and root planing
• Take and process dental X-rays as needed
• Conduct oral health assessments and record findings accurately
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and preventive care
• Apply sealants and fluoride treatments when appropriate
• Maintain infection control standards and clinical safety protocols
• Collaborate with dentists and support staff on patient care plans

Requirements

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene
• Active California Dental Hygienist license
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience working in clinical or community health settings
• Strong communication skills with diverse patient populations
• Ability to manage schedules and documentation efficiently
