Southern Smiles Dental Studio is hiring a Dental Hygienist in Columbia, South Carolina!

Southern Smiles Dental Studio is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and patient-focused Registered Dental Hygienist to join our growing team in Columbia, SC. We are committed to providing exceptional dental care in a welcoming, modern, and family-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about preventive dentistry, patient education, and building lasting relationships with patients.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive dental hygiene assessments and periodontal evaluations

  • Provide preventive dental care, including prophylaxis, scaling and root planing, and periodontal maintenance

  • Take and review digital radiographs

  • Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment recommendations

  • Document patient treatment and clinical findings accurately and thoroughly

  • Assist in identifying and communicating treatment needs to patients

  • Collaborate with dentists and team members to deliver exceptional patient care

  • Maintain compliance with infection control, sterilization, and OSHA protocols

  • Ensure treatment rooms and equipment are properly prepared and maintained

  • Build positive relationships that promote patient comfort, trust, and long-term oral health

Qualifications

  • Current South Carolina Dental Hygiene license in good standing

  • CPR/BLS certification

  • Strong knowledge of dental hygiene procedures, instruments, and patient care protocols

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining high-quality patient care

  • Experience with digital radiography and electronic dental records preferred

  • Positive attitude, professionalism, and commitment to teamwork
