 The Dental Industry Growth Leader is responsible for leading and growing the firm’s Dental Industry practice, with a clear expectation of driving growth through strategy, client engagement, and industry leadership. This role serves as the leader of the Dental Growth Council, setting direction, accountability, and momentum for expanding the firm’s dental footprint. The Dental Industry Leader works in close partnership with Practice Leaders, who are responsible for execution and delivery of services, while this role focuses on growth strategy, client relationships, and industry positioning. This position is highly client‑facing and includes hands‑on involvement with dental clients across traditional tax and assurance services as well as consulting and advisory engagements.

Responsibilities

Dental Industry Growth Leadership

  • Lead and grow the firm’s Dental Industry practice with clear accountability for growth, market expansion, and client acquisition.
  • Lead the Dental Growth Council, establishing growth priorities, tracking progress, and holding stakeholders accountable for results.
  • Develop and implement dental industry growth plans focused on new client acquisition and expansion of existing client relationships
  • Work collaboratively with Practice Leaders,who are responsible for delivering the work, ensuring alignment between growth strategies and execution.
  • Serve as a subject matter resource internally on dental industry trends, benchmarks, and best practices

Client Leadership & Advisory

  • Serve as a primary client advisor, building trusted relationships and delivering exceptional client service 
  • Maintain an active, hands‑on role with dental clients, partnering directly with them on traditional tax and assurance services and consulting and advisory solutions
  • Support clients in assessing operational effectiveness, identifying risks and opportunities, and implementing solutions 
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, quality, and risk management 

Industry & Technical Expertise 

  • Maintain deep knowledge of dental industry, including market trends, operational drivers, and financial challenges 
  • Lead cost, margin, and profitability analysis; support scenario planning to improve efficiency and results 

Growth & Business Development

  • Create and execute a strategic growth plan for the dental industry, including revenue, client, and talent goals 
  • Actively participate in business development, proposals, and client opportunity planning 
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications to develop thought leadership, content, and market-facing initiatives 
  • Expand the firm’s visibility through speaking engagements, networking, and industry involvement 
  • Mentor others in building client relationships and identifying cross-service opportunities 

People Leadership

  • Lead and mentor teams serving dental clients, providing guidance on client delivery and professional development
  • Set clear expectations and align work to team strengths
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback and support team development
  • Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across teams serving the dental practice

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 
  • Master’s degree preferred 
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership experience; industry-specific experience preferred 
  • Prior experience in a CPA firm a plus 
  • Up to 25% - Travel depending on client and business needs   
  • Significant experience working with dental practices or within a professional services environment serving dental clients
  • Strong understanding of dental practice operations, financial performance drivers, and growth challenges
  • Proven experience in client advisory, financial analysis, and business development
  • Ability to translate financial and operational data into actionable recommendations
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
