Dental Patient Financial Specialist Overview:
As a Dental Patient Financial Specialist, you'll be part of the front office team and one of the first people our dental patients meet. You'll help patients navigate their visits from scheduling and check-in through insurance, cost estimates, payments, and check-out. You'll also work closely with the dental team to keep schedules moving, ensure information stays accurate, and patients informed and supported throughout their care.
What You'll Do:
· Welcome patients, answer phones, schedule appointments, and help with questions throughout their visit.
· Check patients in and out and communicate with the dental team about arrivals, delays, and scheduling needs.
· Verify insurance coverage and eligibility, keep patient information accurate, and prepare out‑of‑pocket estimates.
· Explain financial responsibilities, collect and record payments, assist with account questions, and support daily balancing and deposits.
· Process referrals and prior authorizations, follow up on outstanding information, and make accounts receivable collection calls.
· Work with the dental team to address questions, resolve issues, and help patients navigate their care.
· Maintain accurate patient, financial, and health records while protecting confidential information.
· Complete scanning, faxing, filing, and other administrative tasks that support the dental office.
· Follow HIPAA requirements, GSCC policies and procedures, and patient safety practices.
What We’re Looking For:
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Strong computer skills, including experience with electronic health records.
· Attention to detail and comfort keeping information organized.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy dental office
· Familiarity with dental terminology and common procedures.
· Ability to explain insurance, and costs clearly and respectfully.
· Good judgment when handling confidential information.
· Effective communication and comfort working closely with the dental team.
Preferred:
· Dental or healthcare experience.
· Experience with dental insurance, verification, authorizations, referrals, or patient financial services.
· Bilingual a plus.

Compensation: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
