Job Summary:

Molokai Community Health Center (MCHC) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dentist (DDS or DMD) to join our expanding dental program. The Dentist provides high-quality, culturally respectful oral health services to a diverse and underserved patient population. As a key member of our integrated care team, the Dentist plays a critical role in improving the overall health and wellness of the Molokai community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive dental care including diagnostic, preventive, restorative, endodontic, and emergency services.
  • Conduct thorough examinations, develop treatment plans, and educate patients on oral health.
  • Provide care that is patient-centered and aligned with public health best practices.
  • Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation using the Electronic Dental Record (EDR).
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and support efforts to meet UDS, HRSA, and NCQA requirements.
  • Engage in community outreach, school-based screenings, and oral health promotion activities as needed.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, infection control protocols, and all regulatory standards.
  • Contribute to the growth and sustainability of the dental program within MCHC’s integrated care model.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school
  • Current license to practice dentistry (DT or CSDT) in the State of Hawaii (or ability to obtain before start date)
  • Current DEA & CSR registration preferred
  • Health Care Provider BLS certification required
  • Active NPI (National Provider Identifier) number
  • At least one year of clinical experience preferred; new graduates with strong community service interest welcome
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills
  • Commitment to serving rural medically underserved populations
  • Experience working in FQHCs, community health settings, or school-based programs is a plus
  • Familiarity with digital radiography and dental EHR systems (e.g., Dentrix, Athena Dental) desirable
