Job Description

Description

The ADA Forsyth Institute was founded in 1910 as the Forsyth Dental Infirmary for Children (later, the Forsyth Institute), to provide dental care to the disadvantaged children of Boston. While continuing to serve children in need, yet recognizing the ultimate goal is to prevent dental disease, the Institute in 1915 began to focus on scientific research and is today the world's leader in oral health research. In October of 2023, the Institute joined with the American Dental Association to form the ADA Forsyth Institute, a 501(c)(3) entity dedicated to improving people's oral and overall health and powering the profession of dentistry through cutting-edge basic research, creative translational science, innovative clinical technologies, and global public health outreach. Consistent with the Institute's founding mission, the ADA ForsythKids mobile dental program continues to serve children in need.

The ADA Forsyth Institute is seeking a dedicated and community-oriented Dental Van Driver & Administrative Services Assistant to support the ForsythKids Program. This vital role helps bring preventive dental care directly to underserved children and communities across Massachusetts.

If you enjoy working independently, engaging with children and schools, and being part of a mission-driven team focused on improving oral health access, this may be the opportunity for you.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This position plays an essential part in delivering school- and community-based dental services. You will be responsible for safely transporting the mobile dental unit, supporting on-site clinic operations, and helping ensure smooth, efficient program delivery.

This role combines driving, logistics coordination, hands-on support, and community engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Safely drive the dental van between the ADA Forsyth Institute (AFI) and assigned schools or community locations (non-commercial driver's license required).
  • Prepare, organize, and transport administrative and clinical supplies for offsite visits.
  • Assist with on-site set-up and breakdown of portable dental equipment.
  • Lift and transport equipment weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
  • Complete required daily documentation and site assessment forms accurately and on time.
  • Order, track, and maintain program inventory.
  • Provide basic oral health education and distribute educational materials to participating children.
  • Support administrative and program operations as needed.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid non-commercial driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Positive, professional, and self-motivated attitude.
  • Comfort interacting with children, school personnel, and community partners.
  • Physical ability to lift and transport equipment up to approximately 50 lbs.

WHY JOIN FORSYTHKIDS?

  • Be part of a mission-driven program improving access to oral health care.
  • Work directly in schools and communities across Massachusetts.
  • Join a collaborative team committed to serving underserved populations.
  • Contribute to meaningful, measurable community impact.

If you are reliable, community-focused, and passionate about helping children access preventive dental care, we encourage you to apply.
