Dentist – Zachary, LA
Location: Zachary, LAEmployment Type: Full-time or Part-timeRate: $85 – $90/hour (experience-dependent)
Position Overview:
This position is responsible for providing preventive and primary dental care, consistent with the dentist's training and experience, to patients in a community health center setting.

Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited dental school
- Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Louisiana
- Current CPR certification
- Louisiana CDS and DEA registration required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- EMR experience preferred
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing
- Attention to detail, project orientation, ability to multitask and manage competing priorities, and sound judgment and decision-making ability
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine individuals requesting care, diagnose dental conditions, and prescribe and carry out (or direct others in carrying out) appropriate dental treatment, or refer individuals for specialty consultation or treatment in conformance with approved clinical protocols and guidelines
- Record patient-dentist transactions as they occur so that the dental record accurately and completely reflects the nature of the contact, the condition of the patient, and the care or treatment provided; complete patient referrals and other required records and paperwork
- Educate individuals on the nature of health-related conditions and the general promotion of oral health and disease prevention
- Assist in the provision of continuing education, on-the-job training, and orientation of community health center staff as requested
- Perform other related tasks as assigned by the Dental Director or as necessary to achieve organizational goals and program objectives
- Maintain and update skills and knowledge to appropriate professional levels through continuing education courses and educational materials
- Maintain personal and professional compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, and center rules, regulations, protocols, and procedures governing the practice of dentistry and the clinical provision of dental care, as well as those relating to personnel issues, workplace safety, public health, and confidentiality
