We are seeking a full‑time Pediatric Dentist to join its established and collegial team at our Children's Dental Clinic. Outfitted with the latest pediatric dental technology, the clinic is designed to provide high‑quality, comprehensive oral healthcare in a supportive and child‑friendly environment. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside experienced dental professionals who are passionate about serving the unique needs of children and families in Southeast Alaska.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Compensation salary: $288,000 -$360,000 based on years of experience, with additional incentives if applicable.

Schedule & Work-Life Balance:

  • Clinic Schedule: Full-time: Four 10-hour weekday shifts with no call responsibilities offering a great work-life balance.
  • Traveling Clinic: 6-8 work weeks per year to support small communities throughout SE Alaska.
  • Generous Time Off: 33 days (264 hours) annually and 10 days of CME.

Practice Details:

  • New, modern clinic facility: Featuring nine chairs with private, closed operatories, and plumbed nitrous oxide. The space is designed with kid-friendly murals and artwork, and there are plans to support each dentist with two dental assistants in the near future.
  • Patient Volume: 16-24 pediatric patients per day in clinic. All clinic operatories have up-to-date A-Dec equipment, digital radiography, and electronic health records. Including Dentrix Enterprise Software and Dexis Radiography.
  • Procedure opportunities: Full spectrum of treatment options, from minimally invasive dentistry to traditional restorative dentistry, and full mouth dental rehab cases in the OR.

Qualifications:

  • DDS or DMD degree from an accredited program.
  • Board Certification or Board Eligible for the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
  • Active Dental Practice license in state of Alaska or another US state. Renewal of Alaska license paid for by SEARHC.
  • BLS required.

Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job

  • Provides direct patient care to all patients 0-18 years of age.

  • Care will focus on beneficiaries of the SEARHC Dental Program and children eligible for Denali Kid Care (Alaska Medicaid for Children).

  • Develops and promotes dental health.

  • Acts as advisor to General Providers in all matters pertaining to pediatric oral health.

  • Acknowledges all communications and submits required reports in a timely manner.

  • Provides direct patient care in villages as directed by the Dental Unit Chief of Pediatric Services.

Other Functions

  • Constant pace and frequent contact with apprehensive and/or uncooperative patients require communication, patience, organization, and efficiency.

  • Flexibility regarding scheduling is required to accommodate occasional need to work into lunch hour, after hours, and in emergencies.

  • Participate in village field trips.

  • Other duties as assigned.
