Job Description

Ambrook helps American family-run businesses become more profitable and resilient. From volatile markets to climate shifts, independent operators face mounting pressure. While sustainable investments often yield the best long-term returns, they require financial clarity and capital that fragmented legacy systems can’t provide. We are rebuilding the financial infrastructure that real economy operators rely on. By replacing paperwork with modern tools for accounting, banking, and spending, Ambrook gives owners the data they need to prove viability to lenders and the next generation. We empower the stewards of land and labor to make confident investments in their future. We’re a Series B startup backed byLachy Groom,Thrive Capital, Dylan Field, Thomson Reuters Ventures, Cameron Ventures, and leaders at Notion, Gusto, and Vercel. We’re looking for team members to help us untangle the intersection of American industry, climate, and the economy.

Ambrook has grown from 100 to 8,000+ customers in the last 18 months. As a Deployment Specialist on the Services team, you'll be building the infrastructure to help our most strategic users get even more value out of the product and their financial data, in a way that can scale with our next 12 months of growth. Your mission is to deeply understand our customers, and then build the tools, agents, and templates that will enable them to get real insight out of their financial data.

You’ll start by advising a portfolio of customers—sitting with owners over their P&Ls, building payback models on capital decisions, and translating messy operational data into the kind of forward-looking view a good financial analyst gives their executive team, except your executive teams are independent businesses across America. Then, because you're doing the work firsthand, you'll decide what should get built into the product, what an agent or automation can handle, and what should keep living with you or a Services account manager.

We have ambitious goals to democratize access to the best AI tools that large finance organizations have at their disposal, enabling the SMB operators we work with to get the same level of financial insight without an entire back office team. This isn't a customer success or bookkeeping role; it's closer to embedded strategic finance, where you’re building the tools to make a “fractional CFO” accessible to business owners of all sizes.

So if you nerd out about accounting or finance and have built your own tools, agents, or automations to make financial insight easier to get to, this role is for you. You'll sit inside our product operations team, and we'll trust you to move fast and use your own judgment about how to solve a problem—whether that's with the team, an agent or process template, or the product itself.

Within 1 month you'll…

  • Get fluent in our product, our customer base, and the specific shape of finance and operations across farms, ranches, and real economy businesses.

  • Sit in on advisory calls with priority customers and start running pieces of them, especially the analytical and modeling segments.

  • Develop a working point of view on what analysis and modeling we should do for Full Service customers across the board, and what repeat work we should be automating.

  • Build your first tool, agent or model for a customer and get feedback on what’s working and what isn’t to iterate on a repeatable solution.

Within 3 months you'll…

  • Own the strategic finance relationship for a portfolio of Full Service customers, running substantive P&L reviews, scenario work, and capital decision support.

  • Have shipped two or three pieces of analytical infrastructure (AI agents, models, calculators) that have graduated from prototypes to being assets the rest of the team is actively using on their own customer accounts.

  • Be the person the Full Service team brings in when a customer's situation needs sharper modeling judgment on critical decisions such as multi-entity P&Ls, financing decisions, and succession-adjacent work.

  • Surface patterns from your customer work back to Product, Design, and Engineering, so the things you're doing manually start showing up in the software.

About you

You come from strategic finance, FP&A, consulting, accounting, banking, or business analysis, and you're looking to see more direct impact from your work. The right fit for this role is fluent in financial modeling and/or has their CPA at a minimum. You'll also have:

  • 3+ years in strategic finance, FP&A, consulting, accounting or banking. We want folks to be experts in their craft and who can bring this expertise to our customers.

  • Strong customer empathy: you care about the types of customers we serve and can both build relationships and strategically identify opportunities to add value for customers. You communicate empathetically and patiently with diverse backgrounds.

  • Financial acumen: your technical spike is in accounting or finance; you’re very comfortable building a model, budget, or forecast and show judgement in the assumptions you make. You can also clearly explain concepts to operators that don’t have a financial background.

  • Builder mentality: you’ve built your own systems and AI agents that make your processes efficient, and are excited to do the same for our customers.

  • Ownership: you can take projects from idea to completion independently by proactively finding gaps and closing them, pulling in the right team members to support.

  • Systems thinking: you use quantitative and qualitative information to make decisions about what should stay bespoke and what should be built into a repeatable process or product.

  • Agency: you’ve owned ambiguous problems and outcomes, and know how to unblock yourself to make progress. You’re excited to jump into the pace and intensity of a startup.

  • Outcome orientation: you get excited about delivering direct outcomes for customers and for Ambrook, and are comfortable identifying and solving problems without a clear path or template of what’s been done before.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary

  • Health insurance

  • 401(k) with matching contribution

  • Wellness stipend

  • Professional development stipend
