Deputy Design Manager

The Deputy Design Manager selected for this opportunity will gain key public sector experience in water/wastewater facility design oversight and management that can effectively position you to pursue and obtain key, sought-after public sector jobs. We are looking for an Engineer that has 10+ years of experience in wastewater engineering to work hybrid (on-site and remote) and full-time (approximately 40 hours per week) in the Los Angeles area. Projects may include: Various Wastewater Design Projects Wastewater Treatment Facilities Wastewater Conveyance Facilities As a Deputy Design Manager, your duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: Plans, schedules, and conducts engineering design work for water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Supervises and provides technical guidance to a team of engineers and professional staff. Manages multiple design projects concurrently, ensuring schedules, budgets, and quality standards are met. Initiates and maintains effective communication with internal staff, external partners, and key engineers involved in project delivery. Identifies the need for specialized consultant services and oversees consultant selection, contract management, and performance. Coordinates design activities with operations, maintenance, construction, and other agency departments. Ensures project compliance with agency standards, engineering best practices, and regulatory requirements.
